• Upon arrival in La Paz, our team will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your selected hotel. Situated at over 3,600 meters (11,800 feet) above sea level, La Paz is one of the highest cities in the world. To ensure a comfortable start to your journey, we recommend taking it easy on your first day, avoiding strenuous physical activity, staying well hydrated, and allowing your body time to adjust to the altitude.

  Start at Plaza Murillo, the political center of the city, surrounded by the Government Palace and Cathedral. Continue to the San Francisco Church, an important colonial landmark with impressive architecture and cultural value.
  Then visit the famous Witches’ Market, where local vendors sell traditional herbs, amulets, and items used in Andean rituals dedicated to Pachamama (Mother Earth).
  The tour ends with a visit to the spectacular Moon Valley (Valle de la Luna), a surreal landscape of rock formations created by erosion, located just outside the city.

• In the morning, enjoy a 3-hour guided excursion to the Cerro Rico mines, one of the most important and historic silver mining sites in Bolivia and a key experience in Potosí adventure tours.
  Pick-up from your hotel around 08:30 hrs. The experience begins at the Miners’ Market, where you will learn about local traditions and may purchase coca leaves and alcohol (not included) as offerings for the miners, in respect of Andean customs.You will then be equipped with safety gear (helmet, boots, and lamp) before entering one of the mine entrances. Inside, observe the challenging working conditions of the miners and learn about their daily life in the depths of Cerro Rico.
  Visit the sacred figure of “El Tío”, the guardian of the underworld, where miners make offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth) for protection and safety.

  Continue to the extraordinary Incahuasi Island, a desert oasis covered with giant cacti up to 10 meters high. Its unique fish-shaped formation and panoramic views make it one of the most photogenic landscapes in the world. Enjoy lunch on the island surrounded by surreal scenery.

  Continue through the scenic high plateau, visiting the famous chain of Altiplanic lagoons: Laguna Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarcota, Ramaditas, and Honda. • We wake up early and, after breakfast, depart at approximately 05:30 hrs towards the impressive Sol de Mañana geothermal field, one of the highest points of the route (around 4,900 m.a.s.l.). Here you will witness active geysers, boiling mud pools, and volcanic fumaroles releasing steam in a truly surreal high-altitude landscape.
• Continue to the relaxing Polques Hot Springs, where you will have time to enjoy a warm natural bath surrounded by the cold Andean morning—an unforgettable contrast in the heart of the Altiplano.
