 Preparation and Check-in:

You will be picked up from your hotel at approximately 7:50 a.m. Then, you will be transferred through the stunning Sacred Valley. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to admire picturesque villages nestled among the mountains until you reach Abra Málaga, located at 4,300 meters (14,100 ft). There, the guide will give you a briefing about cycling before starting the 50 km downhill adventure on quiet yet challenging roads surrounded by ever-changing landscapes.

Afterward, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch while taking in panoramic views. We will then provide transportation from “HumanMarka” to Santa María (1,200 meters / 3,940 ft), where you can access the internet, buy snacks, or simply rest your legs and enjoy a cold beer before dinner, which consists of traditional Peruvian food.

You will spend the night in a family-run hostel with single, double, or triple rooms available.

• RAFTING: You can go rafting on the Vilcanota River that day. Please let us know when booking. Our guide will provide safety equipment, and you can enjoy this incredible rafting adventure from April to December. During the rainy season, the river level rises.

Your day starts early with a 6:30 a.m.: wake-up to enjoy a unique coffee made from fresh beans. Then, you’ll begin an increasingly steep hike until you reach a cozy family-run restaurant in Santa María. There, you can relax, take in stunning views of the coca plantations, and enjoy a snack while observing the high jungle’s natural surroundings.

After a short walk: you’ll continue your adventure along a traditional Inca Trail for about 800 meters. This hike takes you through breathtaking landscapes rich in history and nature. The descent continues for a couple more hours until you arrive at Qellomayo, a picturesque village where you’ll have lunch to recharge for the rest of the journey.

From Qellomayo: you’ll follow a trail alongside the Vilcanota River until you reach the famous Colcamayo hot springs. Immerse yourself in its relaxing waters, surrounded by unmatched natural beauty—perfect for revitalizing body and mind. After a well-deserved rest, you’ll continue to Santa Teresa, where you’ll have dinner and stay overnight at a hostel.

Your day begins with an early wake-up: followed by a delicious breakfast around 7:00 a.m. Then, you’ll start a hike towards Colpani, a spot with breathtaking views that will leave you speechless. Afterward, you’ll arrive at Hydro-electric, where you’ll enjoy lunch before continuing with a peaceful walk along the train track for about two and a half hours until you reach Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu Town). Once there, you’ll head to your hostel to relax and settle in before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant. Finally, you’ll spend the night at the hostel, where you’ll have comfort, hot water, and private bathrooms.

• ZIP LINE (optional): Feel the adrenaline of the zip lines. Lasting about 2 hours, this experience lets you enjoy the thrill from above. Be sure to book this activity when confirming your reservation.

This day will start early depending on the option you’ve chosen:

1. The first option is to hike from Aguas Calientes to Machupicchu, which will allow you to begin your adventure around 4:30 a.m. From your accommodation in Aguas Calientes, you’ll walk towards Machupicchu, climbing over 1,700 steps, which will take about 1.5 hours.
2. The other option is to take the bus, which costs approximately $12 USD for a one-way ticket, or $24 USD for a round-trip ticket. The bus ride takes around 25 minutes. Upon arrival at the main entrance of Machu Picchu, you will meet your group and guide to enter the site and begin your incredible tour of this historic Inca fortress.

After the tour, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch (not included). Then, head to the train station at least 30 minutes in advance to board the train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, a bus will take you back to Cusco.

OPTIONAL:

• HUAYNAPICCHU or MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAIN: On this day, you can hike one of these mountains. It is necessary to indicate this at the time of booking, as only 400 people are allowed to enter per day. The hike can be done either before or after the guided tour of the Machu Picchu archaeological site. This visit is only available in the morning, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. or from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Additional cost).
• RETURN TO CUSCO BY CAR (OPTIONAL): This is a more economical option, but you will have less time if you plan to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, which may reduce your time for thorough exploration. To choose this option, you must leave Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town) around noon and walk for three hours to Hydro-electric, where you will catch the transport at 2:30 p.m.
• AGUAS CALIENTES HOT SPRINGS: You can visit these hot springs on the first day you arrive in Machu Picchu. Located in Machu Picchu town, the hot springs are open from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and come from an underground spring with water temperatures ranging from 35°C to 40°C. There are five small pools and basic but useful facilities, including changing rooms, showers, restrooms, and a café bar.

NOTE: The itinerary may be subject to changes, as well as availability for Machupicchu entry tickets and train departures. For this reason, it is recommended to book at least 3 months in advance to secure your spot and enjoy this incredible experience without worries.
